M2B5: Re-membering a New Beginning

…the house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace. We comfort ourselves by reliving memories of protection. Something closed must retain our memories, while leaving them their original value as images. …by recalling these memories, we add to our store of dreams; we are never real historians, but always near poets, and our emotion is perhaps nothing but an expression of a poetry that was lost. …the house is one of the greatest powers of integration for the thoughts, memories and dreams of mankind. The binding principle in this integration is the … Continue reading M2B5: Re-membering a New Beginning

Adapting the spaces

The general design of my house was ready following the mid-term assessment, however there were minor adjustments. The emphasis was now on how individuals would adapt the location and character of the dwelling. How will members make use of the space? My main issue was focused at the courtyard and the walls. Building a larger courtyard adjacent to the congregation space while reducing wall construction. In my most recent design, I included a U-shaped structure in the middle that serves as a partition between two rooms as well as storage. Despite the fact that it resulted in additional building, it … Continue reading Adapting the spaces

Hold Old Memory’s Emotion with Future

My image of childhood is represent a “Raw house’s courtyard’s mud smell” in new design of my childhood home I was trying to keep this thing in my design. In the process of design offline experience was so amazing. Quick iteration schematic plan and section helps to develop a design of the house. In design to understand mass void of spaces we had done soap model. The process of buying soap base to make a soap and make a model was complete new experience with new material. It gives a sense that the new design how structurally it stands. Continue reading Hold Old Memory’s Emotion with Future

Building For Future

Memories of childhood are very few, but they are more precious. Everyone has fantasized  about their ideal home as a kid. I also dreamt about one day creating my own home. I designed my home over the course of two weeks by solving the faults I noticed in my  childhood home. I started drawing pictures, schematics, and bubble diagrams of our designs in the first week. To get at the final result, many iterations were performed out. Every iteration was a step forward in learning process. By solving minor problems, I learnt about mass, voids, as well as how to create space. Instead of altering the entire design, I tried to keep the fundamental shape the same this time. During the design process, the site’s size was limited to keep it in line with the hidden location. The pit was 14m x 8m in size. I didn’t … Continue reading Building For Future

The offline rush!

The past two weeks were exciting as we had been in a process of designing the childhood home of a 10-year younger self started online and ended offline. In the first week in order to get going in our design process of recreating childhood homes, we made bubble diagrams, images, diagrams, and soap models. And in the next week, we made continuous iterations of childhood home along with another soap model. The previous week was quite thrilling as we did some fun activities like catching rice balls and drawing openings etc. the design was to be kept 50 percent built … Continue reading The offline rush!
