M2B4: Autobiographica

…the house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace. We comfort ourselves by reliving memories of protection. Something closed must retain our memories, while leaving them their original value as images. …by recalling these memories, we add to our store of dreams; we are never real historians, but always near poets, and our emotion is perhaps nothing but an expression of a poetry that was lost. …the house is one of the greatest powers of integration for the thoughts, memories and dreams of mankind. Reminiscing (part 2)

The past week was spent making visual comic representations of old memories and making astory of them. As it was an ongoing process of previous work now we had to create anautobiographic that explains all the spaces that we have been remembering and sketching inprevious exercises. Once narration was ready, the challenge was to present it through the graphics which I already made. Sketches and spatial profiles helped me to give an idea of the spaces. Portraits and body studies helped … Continue reading Collecting Memories For New Childhood Home

Memories of House

I told a narrative about my ideal house from my childhood in this Novella. I gathered all of my past studio practice drawings and created an autobiography of myself. Throughout the process, I struggled to organize the entire set of drawings based on the tale since my drawings and the story did not match. My initial sketches did not correspond to the brief. As a result, in the final version, I created a few sketches of my childhood house. I only recalled portions of the narrative, so it took me a short time to recall the entire story. The first … Continue reading Memories of House
