The journey began with the construction of a childhood house, which has since evolved into an institution. The site is on the outskirts of Surat, on the fringes of the city. On three sides, the house is surrounded by roads, with the remaining side having a house at a distance of 4.5 meters. The semester is about to end, there are lot of things that need to be finished before jury.   This will be the last meeting before the final presentation. We were given a few days after the workshop week to finish the deliverables, which comprised plans, sections, elevations, a wall section, and a model. The House of MG was built as a residence and was later converted into a hotel. It is located on one of Ahmedabad’s main roads. It is a large area with restaurants, stores, indoor sports games, and a museum gallery. It has high walls and a large gate at the entrance. Inside, the environment is peaceful and relaxing. The studio’s eighth week was an offline session. After a long time, we actually met in person. It was a continuation of designing my childhood home. It started with a group exercise in which we had to fill balloons with rice and form a 100g ball. The general design of my house was ready following the mid-term assessment, however there were minor adjustments. The emphasis was now on how individuals would adapt the location and character of the dwelling. How will members make use of the space? My main issue was focused at the courtyard and the walls. Building For Future

Memories of childhood are very few, but they are more precious. Everyone has fantasized  about their ideal home as a kid. I also dreamt about one day creating my own home. I designed my home over the course of two weeks by solving the faults I noticed in my  childhood home. I started drawing pictures, schematics, and bubble diagrams of our designs in the first week. To get at the final result, many iterations were performed out. Every iteration was a step forward in learning process. By solving minor problems, I learnt about mass, voids, as well as how to create space. Instead of altering the entire design, I tried to keep the fundamental shape the same this time. During the design process, the site’s size was limited to keep it in line with the hidden location. Throughout the process, I struggled to organize the entire set of drawings based on the tale since my drawings and the story did not match. My initial sketches did not correspond to the brief.
