Reminiscing (part 2)

The past week was spent making visual comic representations of old memories and making a
story of them. As it was an ongoing process of previous work now we had to create an
autobiographic that explains all the spaces that we have been remembering and sketching in
previous exercises. This exercise intends to re-remember all the memories from a decade ago
that we connect with and represent them in a comic format. And by doing so we will have some idea as to which space connects more and which space should I have in my new childhood home. So basically this exercise serves as a brief for the upcoming exercises.

These are the images from my autobiographca which shows the spaces that were important to me as a
kid.

It was quite of a task to just start with this exercise but I soon figured it out by placing all of my sketches and portraits in a sheet and tried to connect them by making some story. Just as
shown in the references above, I have tried to show the significance of the staircase and
focused on the quality of the staircase and have tried to connect it with some dialogues between me and my mom and the narration part in the current me. In another image, the significance of my bedroom and chowk is depicted and I have described the quality of the space in the Conversation. Similarly, I have made conversations with other people which makes the story from the first slide to the last slide in a series.

The first slide shows an image of the kind of space I want and is supported by conversations and the next
slide shows the bubble diagram.

In the first slide, there is an ongoing conversation between younger me and current me. I have
tried to show the abstract representation of staircases which depicts the space I want in my new childhood home. The images show different spaces under a flight of the staircase and the loop made by the staircases has some space in between which can be utilized as open space or courtyard space the next slide shows the program and bubble diagram of the different spaces I want to incorporate in my new house. I found this way to get to the design brief very interesting. By small incremental intuitive steps of all the previous exercises lead to the design brief. Lastly, it was fun to make the comical representation of the old memories and making a story to connect all the slides.
