The entire learning process of designing a secret place would be described as a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs. It was fun and exhilarating but scary and frustrating at the same time. This was the first time I was making a model and it was very exciting.
It started with me having so many different ideas and trying to put it all together in the first iteration but I lost my focus on basic details like messing up the scale of the model or the dimensions of the stairs through the next few iterations. After getting the scale right, the spaces in the model were organised poorly. I was frustrated at myself for making these mistakes and frustrated for redoing and redesigning it again and again but I soon realised that this was practise for the future where the problems and iterations would be so much more than it is now. Hence the entire process has taught me to be patient more than anything.
The rollercoaster ride had its ups as well like the precision and accuracy it taught me while I was cutting and sticking cardboard pieces up. Working with friends and classmates and solving each other’s problems through zoom meets or in each other’s hostel rooms has given me so many memories that are going to be hard to forget.
